Description
Single-use vaginal speculum generally.
A single-use vaginal speculum or hysteroscope is an instrument used in obstetrics and gynecology that dilates the walls of the vagina so that the doctor (gynecologist) can see the entrance to the uterus and examine it.
The gynecological examination is performed in a gynecological position (with the legs abducted on special supports) on a special examination bed or in a gynecological chair. In this position, the gynecologist examines the internal and external genitalia of the woman. Initially, they view the vulva and then insert a plastic vaginal speculum into the vagina to keep it open and allow viewing of its interior.
Screw-type specula are very practical and preferred by most gynecologists. Each speculum has a plastic screw of a different color on the side, which also characterizes its size. Since they are single-use, they offer all the advantages that help avoid cross-infection.
