Optima Splint is an orthopedic splint system for temporary immobilization of fractures, sprains, and strains. It consists of multiple layers of casting strips impregnated with polyurethane resin that is activated before use. The strips are enclosed in a protective barrier of non-woven fabric to provide comfort for the patient. It polymerizes by simply dipping it in natural temperature water, giving us an immediately, easily, and cleanly usable, very lightweight yet very durable splint. It sets in about 5 minutes. OptimaSplint™ is suitable for skin contact and immobilizes bones while protecting wounds. It maintains moisture and controls skin inflammation due to its non-woven construction. It provides excellent durability, which is the most important characteristic required in a splint.
