Description
Sabouraud Dex. Agar With Chloramphenicol is a medium used for the isolation, cultivation and identification of pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that acts as an inhibitor against a wide range of gram(+) and gram(-) bacteria. Peptones are a source of nitrogenous growth factors. Dextrose is an energy source for fungal growth. After sufficient incubation, the sample should show isolated colonies in the dilution areas and mixed growth in the dense inoculation areas. Examine colonies for color and morphology. Biochemical tests and serological examinations must be performed to confirm the results.
