The Optima Splint is an orthopedic splint system for temporary immobilization of fractures, sprains, and strains. It consists of multiple layers of casting strips impregnated with polyurethane resin that is activated before use. The strips are enclosed in a protective barrier of non-woven fabric to provide protection for patient comfort. It polymerizes by simple immersion in natural temperature water, giving us immediately, easily and cleanly a user-friendly, very light but also very durable splint. It sets in approximately 5 minutes. The OptimaSplint™ is suitable for skin contact and immobilizes bones while protecting wounds. It maintains moisture and controls skin inflammation due to its non-woven material construction. It provides excellent durability which is the most important feature required in a splint.
